Complete modern replacement for the discontinued Kohler 73533-AA whirlpool pump system.
The original pump, keypad, electronic controls and Telco-style control cable are discontinued. This Whirly Bros retrofit replaces the complete operating system with a new 120V variable-speed pump, CG Air control box and tub-mounted keypad.
This listing is the variable-speed keypad version. It provides High, Medium, Low, Wave and Pulse operation.
Prefer not to install a new deck-mounted keypad? Choose the 73533-AA three-speed wireless remote system. The remote version provides High, Medium and Low speeds but does not include Wave or Pulse modes.

Installation Information
Plumbing: In most installations, the replacement pump will connect to the existing whirlpool plumbing with little or no PVC cutting or gluing required. Make sure the pump union is aligned squarely before tightening. The included O-ring creates the watertight seal, so hand-tighten the union and do not use Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on the union threads.
Electrical: This replacement system operates on 120V and must be connected to a properly protected, dedicated GFCI (Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) circuit. Do not connect the system directly to a 240V power supply.
Pump Mounting: The original Kohler pump base must be removed because it may not properly fit the replacement motor. Mount the new pump securely on a stable, level surface to help minimize movement and vibration during operation.
Before Installation: Every whirlpool installation can be slightly different, especially on older tubs that may have been previously repaired or modified. Before ordering or installing, compare your existing plumbing connections and available space with the replacement system.
Important heater information: The original K-73533 pump assembly included a heater. This replacement kit does not. If you want to retain water-temperature maintenance, view our external whirlpool heater options or contact us for help choosing the correct style.
